Glasnevin Cemetery, Ireland's largest Victorian burial place, preserves the stories of 1.5 million people. Its epic monuments mark the resting places of those who shaped the nation—from presidents to poets, singers to suffragettes - bringing their history to life.
The Glasnevin Cemetery team wanted a multimedia guide to enhance the visitor experience, especially when human-led tours aren't available.
The goal was to provide an accessible and multilingual way for people from diverse backgrounds to understand the historical context and personal stories that shaped modern Ireland.
Critically, the guide needed to be more than just a tour of graves, but a journey through Ireland's past, told through both famous and lesser-known individuals.
The project delivered by ATS for Glasnevin Cemetery was a comprehensive 45-minute multimedia guide, designed to significantly enhance the self-guided visitor experience.
This guide was built to be deeply engaging, incorporating images and archive video alongside the primary audio narrative. Critically, the content itself was owned by the client; the Glasnevin Team ensured authenticity by creating their own content and recording the audio with members of their staff.
To ensure broad accessibility, the guide was launched with multilingual support, offering narratives in English, Irish (Gaelic), Italian, French, Spanish, and German.
While the client focused on rich content, ATS's role centered on the presentation and functionality. The company was responsible for designing the user interface (UI) and building the entire digital interface, carefully aligning the final product with the client's established branding to provide a seamless and professional experience for every visitor.
