The National Museum of Ireland is a network of four museums dedicated to preserving and showcasing Ireland’s rich heritage across archaeology, decorative arts.
The National Museum of Ireland's team aimed to significantly enhance their exhibition by integrating an additional layer of interpretation, thus offering visitors an alternative means of accessing the content.
A Progressive Web Application (PWA) was the chosen delivery method for this digital guide. This selection was based on practical considerations: a PWA requires no physical equipment storage, solving the issue of limited on-site space, and it eliminates the need for staff to manage device distribution, addressing staff availability concerns. The PWA also offered superior ease of access for visitors, who could use their own devices.
Finally, to ensure broad accessibility and cultural relevance, the Museum specified that the guide must be presented in both English and Irish (Gaelic).
ATS provided the National Museum of Ireland with a comprehensive digital solution: three separate audio tours, each running between 30 to 40 minutes in length.
To meet the museum’s requirements for easy access and minimal physical management, all three guides were delivered as a Progressive Web Application (PWA), allowing visitors to instantly access the content on their own devices. For maximum inclusivity and cultural reach, the tours were made available in both English and Irish (Gaelic).
ATS's core contribution was the presentation and functionality of the guides. They were responsible for designing the user interface (UI) and building the PWA interface, meticulously ensuring the final product perfectly matched and upheld the client's established branding.
