Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum

Nestled within St. Mary's Hospital, this museum is dedicated to the life and work of Sir Alexander Fleming, a Scottish scientist who is best known for his discovery of penicillin.

What we did

What was required

The museum also showcases some of Fleming's personal belongings and research equipment, providing a unique glimpse into the life and work of this pioneering scientist.

The laboratory bench is crowded with the tools of a 1920’s bacteriologist, recreated as it was when Alexander Fleming worked here. You can see Fleming’s own wooden bench tidy, and a microscope in use in St Mary’s Hospital during Fleming’s time.

In addition to its exhibits, the museum offers a range of educational programs and events, including lectures, workshops, and guided tours.

Our Creative Solution

Having seen the virtual tour that ATS created for St James’s Piccadilly, the team at the Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum were inspired to create a virtual experience for the office of Alexander Fleming, allowing online visitors to look around his desk, zoom in on particular items and discover more by clicking on particular items that had text associated with them.

The tour is a live web page and, as such, can be added to and expanded over time.
