Interpreting permanent and temporary art collections

ATS is very privileged to have worked with the prestigious National Portrait Gallery (NPG) for over eight years, providing on-site multimedia guides and developing content for the permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions.

Our original challenge was to make original content much more than just an ‘audio guide with an image’. So, in addition to adding personalised tour routes for a number of specialist topics i.e. Kings and Queens, Famous People etc, ATS also filmed introduction videos to each gallery by the NPG’s Curators which gave visitors a short but easy to understand introduction to the subject matter by an expert.

Temporary exhibitions including Thomas Lawrence, Lucian Freud, David Bailey and Gainsborough’s Family Album Exhibition have also had great content produced by ATS.

We’ve additionally developed a version in British Sign Language (BSL) and multiple languages.
